Phil Manzanera - A Producer's Role

In this interview with Simon Savage, Phil Manzanera describes his approach to the role of producer, and how he works with artists. One of Phil's most recent collaborations was as co-producer with David Gilmour on David's album "On An Island".

Phil discusses how he and David began working on the album together, touring as David's rhythm guitarist, whilst continuing to be an integral part of Roxy Music. Phil certainly keeps busy, and whilst a new Roxy Music album is on the cards, his "solo" work continues with the recent release of his latest album "Firebird VII" - a collaboration with drummer Charles Hayward, bassist Yaron Stavi, pianist Leszek Mozdzer and bassist Bill MacCormick.
